Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

I'd love To to say for the sake of the constructors we're putting Russel in car 2.. all British team all German machinery the perfect blend. 😂

I really don’t like DRS as it’s false over taking as the car really has no defence the push to pass system is good as you can counter it but drs is just too powerful.
It's a tricky one this, they have to make false excitement in F1 because it's just too difficult to overtake. What surprises me is how much they struggle to get the drs length right. You're right that in most tracks it's just a free pass, in some (Monaco and Singapore certainly, there may be more) it doesn't even work at all .

I thought they had it just right here, the Mercedes has more straight line speed then the Ferraris so Lewis shot past but up against the McLaren Lewis really had to work for his DRS overtake.

They need to design this onto 2022 and make cars drivable in the tow wake.
Yeah I totally agree. Surely it means creating aero rules so that the cars benefit more from mechanical grip than they do from aero grip? I have no idea what this means or how it would be done but I assume Braun and Domenicalli would know and it's up to them!

Surprisingly good race. Max was imperious, apart form that lately safety car blip (which he wasn't alone in) he was streets ahead. He is a great driver.

Be interesting to see how Merc cope with their drivers now. It must be so tempting for Wolf to sack off Bottas and give the drive to Russell.

Aston Martin and alpine both seem quite poor at the moment.

It's great to see McLaren back at the business end. Surprised at how much race pace Norris has compared to Riccardo though
We don't see anything major from Aston Martin and Alpine till next season with the new rules and regs.
It's the reason they've brought in Vettel and Alonso respectively. Experienced drivers to help with the process of building the cars for next season. There is absolutely no way Alonso came back to F1 just for the money, he could earn it and more elsewhere for less of the work, he wants another title. Same with Vettel.
Next season could be one of the best in 20 years.

Whether that was luck or judgement, red bull nailed that, came on in pretty much the lap where slicks were becoming faster than inters!
If Vettel hadn't been on slicks Lewis might have passed Verstappen. Vettel was slow letting him through due to not daring to leave the dry line.

Next season could be one of the best in 20 years.
What about this season? 2 absolutely brilliant races to start off with. The Verstappen / Hamilton duel looks like its going be very exciting. McLaren and Ferrari showing great improvements. Perez had an awful race today, but I think he's going to play a big part. Gasly has had 2 bad races, but is showing excellent pace. Mazepin bring some comedy gold. Its all looking great to me.

Could well be.

Next season is a blank slate for everybody though.

It's gonna be a great season @Steer I'll be the first to admit that I didn't expect red bull to be that competitive out of the gate.

Lewis is no doubt up for the challenge but I bet there's a little part of him thinking **** this is a bit tighter than I'm used to.

As always seems to be the case just when there's a seeming levelling it's back to blank next season.
