For once, our transfer window seems organised

Gotta say, the lack of rumours are pleasing thus year, club seems to be giving nothing away.
Nobody knew about Archer till it was way down the line.

Even those that are rumoured, for once seem to be well thought out and part of the actual plan, not just names that completely go against everything that's been said. .

Van Hecke
Barlaser
Ogbene
Jashiri
Cresswell

That's the linked list. Young, long term signings and it excites me.
If we get a few done, I'll be extremely happy the direction we're going

In a way does it help a bit that automatic promotion is pretty much gone? Which means there's no pressure to gamble on some big money or high profile signings to get us over the line.

Qualifying for the play-offs looks like being a proper battle and even if we make it, it's still a 4 way shoot out. So promotion is far more unlikely than likely.

Which means we obviously strengthen if we can, but I think the focus is not just on strengthening for the rest of the season but with more of an eye on building towards an auto promotion push next season. Because the odds are that's where we'll be.

So no pressure to find players and probably puts us in a stronger negotiating position. We can probably afford to wait till the summer if we need to, so no being held to ransom.
