For all nostalgic football fans old grounds

That brings some memories flooding back Zorro (Good and bad) (y)

As you say, amazing to see how many have disappeared.
 
Where are they getttng those numbers from? Can't be ground capacities. Ayresome Park 26k? Is it average attendance over the lifetime of the ground? Crowd size of last game held there?

I wondered that as well. One of them had an asterisk against it, which didn't help at all.

For ayresome and Roker it looked like they were quouting their official capacities when they closed. Both significantly reduced over time due to health and safety.
 
Thanks for posting that zorro, I've been to everyone of those grounds, strange think my 1st Boro away game was Preston on the 11th November 1972 but my 1st visit to an opposing ground was a night match Huddersfield 0 Arsenal 1, John Radford scored, that's another story
As a romantic, old school in me I still prefer the old grounds with their different stands to the all singing modern stadiums
