I thought you were allowed to travel to the coast even before the new policy.
As long as people socially distance - no problem
 
But in that volume though and there’s no social distancing in those shots. I think he’s highlighting how “back to normal” everything looks again all of a sudden.
 
I've said from the beginning people can blame the government so much, the bigger problem is adults who are not being adults & just pleasing themselves, you're only as strong as the weakest link & that's your neighbour, family member, best mate etc

Could you image if the media, who have been just as idiotic in all this interview a parent with her children & asks the mother, will you be sending your child to school & crazily she will say, nooooo, it's too dangerous

Lets prey this doesn't come back & bite us
 
Not that they handled the pandemic well, the government totally lost it when Cummins went walk about. Everyone else just thought, if he can do it, why can't we. :oops:

I've got to agree with Erimus, common sense needs to take place.
 
To me it just seems madness, business and education are having to do all sorts of things to start up again and yet we have thousands upon thousand heading to squeeze onto a beach or other beauty spot.
We have to kick start things don't get me wrong but this seems way to fast and way to early.
Nicolas Sturgeon seems to have a much more balanced and thought out approach.

Not looking for an argument here but
Volume is irrelevant if people use their common sense
And
Look at the video again - you can conclude nothing about a lack of social distancing.
 
When you lock people down and then provide them with freedom to travel as they wish this is of course going to happen. Beauty spots around the country will be visited. It is not against the law, or the guidelines.

Whats the transmission rate out in the open, on a beach? I suspect we don't really know. What would be really useful is a track and trace system to find out, and then base lockdown/ policy decisions based on the outcomes of an ever changing policy.

How much would it impact on liberty if we recorded every vehicle entering Brighton via ANPR and contacted the vehicle owner 2 and 3 weeks later to see the consequence? Small sample, high density outdoor population. Would it be helpful data? Would it be feasible/ easy to do?

That ship sailed when Cumming kept his job. The Government has used the release of lockdown as a diversion. The latest instruction to people who have been "shielded" is completely without warning to GPs or any other health professional. And like a good parrot you are going to blame everyone except the people who have blood on their hands.

I'm not going to disagree with that Muttley, what he did was wrong & there's no defence for his actions, or eye sight

But only last month we had photos & stories of Joe public having BBQ's, or people going on beaches enmass
Joe Public still have a part to play though
 
Its what you can do under these government guidelines, would have thought if anyone had any sense and saw a crowded place they would either turn around and go somewhere else, sadly not. Government have handled this shockingly but there is also no excuse for peoples stupidity
 
People need strong and able leadership. There is none. In the absence of such, people go their own way I'm afraid. And it's deliberate policy. We are all expendable as long as massive companies begin to make money again.
