Fmttm player sponsorship - copy and paste https://gf.me/u/y4q8gs

Do we:

  • Sponsor as FMTTM

  • Sponsor on behalf of a charity

It was offered to the Forum - maybe they felt they couldn't ask anyone to pay at this late stage. Or just thought it was a great opportunity to support the community/charities.
Anyway, I will ask about Nathaniel Mendez-Laing first thing in the morning.

Have made an official approach before the ink dries on the deal.

We will be offered another player.
Supporters Forum have just snapped up Watmore - with different charities getting a boost in the publicity each match.
On the day Watmore signed his contract (8th Jan) the club posted that he was still available to sponsor.

I enquired that day about sponsoring him (nothing to do with FMTTM) and was told he had already been signed up when Liam Brown replied a day or so later.

Now that Lewis Wing has left on loan for Rotherham we have a choice of a replacement player to shift our sponsorship to -
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
Darnell Fisher
Neeskens Kebano
Jordan Archer

Maybe we could set up a poll only for those who paid.

It is our choice. Am trying to think what is the easiest way to set up a poll but only for those that contributed to Lewis Wing sponsorship. Can you think?

Just do it quickly otherwise we will have no choices.
Haven't most people already posted on the other thread, just take the outcome and go with it.
Even if all don't post, doesn't really matter as we have all paid.
I would just do it.

Message of thanks received from MFC Foundation.
I sent what was left in the sponsorship accounf and rounded it up to £400.
We received a letter of thanks from Paul Shepherd Business Development Manager.
Letter Attached.

We now have both a signed shirt from the 1st team and Neil Warnock and also just today I picked up this fabulous framed Lewis Wing shirt. It really is superb.
Am hoping we can now raffle the signed shirt amongst those who sponsored Lewis Wing/Darneĺl Fisher and then maybe discuss with fundraisers and MFC Foundation about the framed signed shirt.
It is extremely heavy and robust but would need extremely careful handling if transported.

Wing shirt looks great, I've seen you want to auction this Rob and think it will raise a good amount but I think the final cost might put a few of us out the equation.

I know we said originally we would raffle the team signed shirt amongst those that contributed to the sponsorship and I still think that's a great idea. What are people's thoughts on us (people who originally contributed) sticking another fiver or tenner in each for a raffle ticket, I know it could be a bit of admin to sort out bank details again but it just swells the coffers a little more.

I would happily go along with this suggestion. Wonder if we could make the auction a bit of an on-line event?

Whilst I have no objections to adding a few more quid to the MFC Foundation, I think there may be a few of the original contributers that will kick up a stink along the lines of "Its like we are being held to ranson over the signed shirt" & "How dare we ask for more" or even "Typical Boro, always moving the goalposts and not thinking of the fans".....or numerous other comments of that ilk.

I would say that we just put the names in a hat and pull one out, if the rest of us want to donate extra to the MFC Foundation then we can do it through the normal channels & dont need to do it through FMTTM. Its when we start complicating things that things get complicated and arguments ensue!

I agree with that (mostly). Contributors have already put a fair bit in already. And to declare my (non-) interest, I'd be asking not to be included.

My thoughts are that we hold a free raffle for the signed Boro shirt amonst the sponsors. Buffaloboro suggests a random computer generated draw. No money exchanged but just everyone with an equal chance to win. It would be a totally random draw and we could do it live. What the person that wins does with that shirt is totally up to them.
The framed Wing shirt could only be collected - it is too heavy and fragile to be posted out. Plus not everyone is UK based. I had no idea until I picked it up just how big it is and also I was told some have in the past been damaged in transit. It is far and away heavier than a normal framed shirt.

Can we donate the framed shirt back to the club for donation with all proceeds to the foundation? I'm sure they'd have greater reach in terms of attracting bids/general publicity and be willing to arrange delivery? They were on the ball with NW's manager of the month award that was put up for grabs?

Gene - that is an idea. I was in contact with Dave Mohan who has raised thousands for the MFC Foundation through online auctions this season and he said he would assist us. I was going to approach MFC Foundation about this - it would work so well if there was an actual real event. But alas.
