Remember reading about the 5 a sides and being a little too quiet at the time to join in!. Did end up playing in some fmttm 11 a side game not long after though. I think most of those names will have played. Certainly remember Esky and bandito played. Was Juventus one on the list too?
 
Think I played the 1st 11aside game too, at Conyers if I remember rightly, sweltering hot day. Lisbon Legend was also there too from what I remember.

or was this when Tomato organised them over Acklam fields or something @Borodrew?

Juventus. Great shout. He was good mates with Phelps_E. They were both in their teens when they played.
 
Now then relfy!

I played mostly until I moved to guisborough. Played in the first 11 aside game and bagged an assist. Was it Juno_10 or his brother who was ready to spew on the sidelines?

still play now. Just started playing in the Sunday night league in goals again now. Lost a yard of pace since then.

Used to get the bus with captain when we couldn’t wangle a lift

no good with usernames from back then. Think it was mickey_2003 we went back the courtyard after a game and we’re doing strawpedo’s 😂

That may or may not have been me 🤣
I think I took Bob’s concussion for him As my memory is crap.

Although ending up in Guisboro might’ve been a stretch for me, as I was always naffed after a game of footy. Possibly after a Boro match maybe?

I know I introduced it to Blondie from Derby (I think) was in Doc Browns with Regular Reader and a few others for possibly the Boro v Dearby game one season.

Aw Gaz as if I forgot about you. I had a feeling I'd be embarrassing meself with forgetting certain names.

Good to hear from you bud. Remember well our trip to Fulham with a load of other FMTTM crew. Also some good times at MIddlesbrough Music Live, Brighton Beach and not forgetting PLAY @ the Empire.

No mention yet of double act brothers regular_reader and bad_boy_bix? Can only ever remember bad_boy_bix going in goal - in full goalie's kit. He took his goalkeeping seriously, that lad.

I deffo haven't forgotten either of those two, but I did forget the bad_boy_bix username. Some the things that regular_reader did on those pitches would boggle the mind :oops:
 
If its one thing FMTTM Footy wasnt short of, it was characters. We were often short of decent footballers but never of "personalities"

Ye some great memories. Really felt like we had a community back then. The internet wasn’t a poisonous. Used to meet before all the boro games. Ye Fulham at loftus road. Great trip that one.
If it wasn’t for this board not sure who I’d have gone to Cardiff with......

I remember going to the Leadmill in Sheffield to watch the bluetones (I think) with you and a lady friend way back

If I remember the mickey rightly he was a froward a believe. Had a skinhead and wore a hearing aid. That’s if my memory serves me correctly

You're right mate, the sense of community FMTTM back in the day is not something I've personally found since. So many options and choices to share your thoughts with the world now. Back then though it was MSN, MySpace and FMTTM!

Yes, I remember that Bluetones trip. They were and still are a really good live band. We listened to John Mayer the whole way home and you pretty much slept through the lot :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:

I think, at some point, a reunion will have to be on the cards.

Haha yes, if I remember correctly I was severely hungover from the night before. A reunion would be good, I’d be well up for that
