Five guys

Cajun fries at 5 guys nice.

Five guys are one of my top burger places. Although I do like a Byron too.

Anyone who thinks they are similar to McDonald's clearly has never had one, craziest statement i have heard

I had a Five Guys in Orlando years ago in one of the malls as a quick option and it was cheap probably about 5 dollars or so for a decent sized burger and fries, just looked online there and a large Cajun fries is £5.25, that’s crazy pricing for a takeaway. They not daft though, as people will pay it, same way people pay a tenner for Krispy Kreme donuts, wild.
Not every one pays a tenner for Krispy Kreme donuts.

Five Guys is ok, no more no less. I've been to pubs that do a better Burger and Chips than that and you can get a decent pint too.

Five Guys pump out a decent burger. It is expensive, sure, but certainly not enough to put the youth off.
Plus, I have repeatedly tried and failed to get a decent burger anywhere on Teesside.
I'm not sure how everywhere manages to **** it up so badly. Two inch thick burgers in too soft brioche. No thanks

Also i think Wagamama would do perfectly well on Teesside.

The youth are willing to spend extortionate amounts for average food. I've seen them get bloody cookie dough delivered and pay a tenner for the privilege. Its gone mental and the virus has really ramped it up.

I got a sweet treat with a small black coffee at an indie coffee shop recently and it cost me 7 quid! Place was rammed with people under 30. Noticed a cookie was £3. Its butter and sugar!

Getting old, clearly.

I have always been very against those ridiculous articles that tell young people to stop buying avocados if they want to afford a house. But i think i could get behind one telling them to perhaps stop eating out or having dessert delivered to their sofa.

edit: I should add of course that people are free to spend their hard earned money however they wish. And clearly not everyone under 30 is moaning about unaffordable housing while buying £4 donuts (£15 for a box of 4, I kid you not) But there certainly is something strange going on with the takeaway market and what I would say are, objectively, grossly inflated prices. There’s a new one popping up here every day, someone’s buying it. Its baffling to me which again must mean I’m truly getting old!

Been one walking distance from my house for@ 8 years. Best thing is that they have.malt vinegar for the chips (not that common in the USA). I would agree with others who say there's better burgers out there but 5G a step Up from most fast food places.

And free peanuts 🥜

If gourmet Burgers are your thing and in future you find yourself near Kings Cross station then if you can get a seat go to the German Gymnasium. For about £12 you can get the GG Burger with cheese and fries - almost the same price as Five Guys but with better quality and much better ambience. Washed down with a stein of German lager. What’s not to like.

Indeed. I work right by here in the square. German Gymnasium is amazing for food and beers
