Got most things covered off but -
The one snacky thing we've had 'for ever' with the kids over Xmas has been those tempura battered prawns.
We were facing a bit of a rebellion but I stumbled on the plant based version in Sainsbury's today - will try them tonight.

First the vaccine and now this 🌲

Mine too, what are you going for for your main. A nut roast ?

Got two options - one is a beetroot, celeriac, sweet potato and Swiss chard layered pie.
The other is a mushroom, lentil and fruit loaf

Both with a red wine grave

those tempura prawns were lovely by the way and found some plant based pigs in blankets from Tesco which my wife didn’t like cos they tasted too much like sausages.

All sound very good - I will mention to the Mrs today if she wants to try either of those mains!

I ate at my brothers last year who’s vegan and everything was fine except the pigs in blankets. I don’t know what was used for the pig part but it was like chewing rubber.

Sounds yummy😋.............we’ll be thinking about you.😀🍗🥓🍰🍨👍

When I was vegan, I did a mushroom, red wine and pear barley Wellington. It was nice.

This one will probably win - having a final go at it today

The pie is a good back up though. Spelt flour for the pastry is a revelation.
Couldn’t get swish chard so used Covolo Nero (Sainsbury’s) and used plain flour instead of semolina flour
