First they done away with replays.....

Think they are trying to reduce matches due to the amount of teams that will be in the CL next year. I dont think it leaves a free week for it to be done over two legs or to have replays in the fa cup

Is that a bad thing? Gives less fancied teams more of a chance doesn't it?
No. People will criticise it but I think it is probably a good thing for a team like Boro tbh. It is good for the “big 6” too because it means they are playing less games in a tournament they aren’t as bothered about winning as the PL, FA Cup, CL, Europa League or Conference League. I can’t really see who loses out here.
Semi finals should be at neutral grounds instead of Wembley.
Gives clubs an extra chance to play at Wembley though. But it may not be totally ridiculous to just have home & away. If we drew, say Everton, at home and it was one leg for a crack at the final I’d really fancy our chances. More so than if we drew them at Wembley or Old Trafford with 50% allocations.

I think the calendar should be reduced anyway. Im a big believer around the sport science side of things and I think there is too much demand in players currently

Never understood why it was a thing to begin with.

I can understand why people want replays keeping (though I don't like them), and I definitely disagreed with scrapping extra time, but I don't get why anyone from a smaller club would want to face the big clubs twice to try and progress.

We'd have far more chance of winning and reaching a final in a one off match.

My fondest Boro memories since the last relegation include the cup wins against Man Utd and Spurs, but as incredible as we were on those nights I don't think we'd have been able to do it a week later too.

Part of me thinks that it didn't stop us in the past, but that was 20 years ago. The gulf between the haves and have nots is now so large that I think a single leg is a great idea. I also like the idea of neutral venues, but I can't see anyone wanting another game on their pitch during the winter.

I would have no objection to one leg semi finals as long as they are not held at Wembley. Semis at Wembley are terrible and for a competition like the league cup they would be most likely half empty. Neutral venues like old trafford or villa park would be far better
