First regular pub

The Penny Black in Hartburn to have a pint with my dad.

The Sun and The Green Dragon in town 1980 onwards.

New Masons in Shildon - went in when I was 16 only got served because the land lord at the time knew my mates dad and he told us we were allowed two pints each and then had to leave. £1.25 per pint early 90's. Cracking pub and always rammed.

Not the Jubilee, or the King Willie??

the Jubilee was the closet pub to my house as I grew up on the estate - then there was also the Jubilee club which was only a **** stride away too. the Jubilee and the King Willie were rough old boozers in there day.

Drank down the Hackworth for a long time before I left the town though. Anne and Eddy always had an open door, so did Pete down the Masons come to think of it.

Was the village pub by default since I was 16, bo drinking age rules applied out in the sticks, but when I went to uni in the mid 90's we had a house in linthorpe so the linny was our closest. We used to keep clear of the nutters in the bar though, spent most time in the conservatory thing, even if it was freezation in winter and like a sauna when it was above 15 degrees C

Agreed 👍🏿 But the OP asked your first regular pub and that was mine 🤔
I totally misread that, I thought he was asking which pub re-opening was your regular.

I first started drinking in the Royal around 77/8. Les Atkin set up a football team out of there and it was just before I left school and started down Smith's Dock. Kev Healey and Mick O'Neil got me to play for them.

The landlord, Derek Orlopp knew my dad and he knew exactly how old I was. He came and sat next to me one day and said 'you are Tommy's lad, the one who is 18.' Being a bit green round the gills, I replied ' I'm only 16.'
