Cracking fella . He had the art of knowing which artists you liked and who you might like . Got my early Rick Springfield albums off him . Proper Boro character .Saw him last year.I dont think he's in best of health.
You could dedicate a whole thread about Tony.Cracking fella . He had the art of knowing which artists you liked and who you might like . Got my early Rick Springfield albums off him . Proper Boro character .
I dont know about that. I know he wound a lot of people up at times.I heard he had the ability to be a first class cricketer in his earlier days
I’d agree about the Exhibition but there was also a fair amount of non working lads regulars in there. The Telstar in Billingham. Was a great pub in the 70s. It had 4 bars and the one I drank in was the broken jaw. Lots of good hard working hard drinking lads who had each other's backs whatever happened. Plus the Newcastle exhibition was the best I ever tasted.
yep Miffy...... he was a good bloke....and the bloke selling the paintings...Miffy wore the keys, not to be confused with Tony Day who sold the records

Knowing my luck I’m surprised I never got a reply saying “ do you mean my sister “ .just a tad..
The Speedway on West Lane early 1970,s ...A pint of Tavern with a touch of lemonade ( not the best of ales )....then off to the match and cheer on the lads from the holgate end. With pubs reopening, what was your first regular pub?

Remember the bank holidays in the car park . When they did their couple of hours afternoon shutdown we used to go to the Assembly Rooms in the village. Great days"Tony Day". That name rings a bell! Happy daysin the Linny - Kirby and the Art college breaking up for Christmas was always a mess in there!
His denim shorts were so tight you could tell if he was Jewish or notBorobarmy & Sadgit you are really taking me back to the Linny in the 80s with all these characters that I remember so well. I remember asking the bloke who always wore denim shorts if he was cold as it was midwinter and snow on the ground and he threatened to kill me! I also remember the busty girlfriend as well
