Finn Azaz > Morgan Rogers?

It's a big ask as Morgan Rogers has gone on and excelled in the Premier League and was rightly called up to the England squad.

Finn Azaz has been more impressive in a Boro shirt, but is of course 2 years older and had more experience on loan down the leagues than Morgan Rogers had. There's no question Morgan Rogers is a better player right now, but could Azaz keep improving to the point he is as good or even better than him?

Still a long way from that but interesting to ponder.

But yes, obviously Rogers is way ahead of him at the minute
 
Azaz is the type of player you build a team around to get the best out of him, Rogers can slot in to different systems and still perform.

I think Rogers is better, but Azaz is perfect at our level.
 
It would be no surprise if Azaz is also a prem player before long. Hopefully with us of course, but scouts surely must be sniffing around.
 
Different types of players and the advantage MR has over FA is his physique, which is a big part of his game.

Azaz has all the makings of a PL player though and evident he'll never have the physical attributes of Rogers, he seems to be getting stronger.

Love watching both play, both lovely players, albeit for different reasons.
 
Azaz is suited to a strong team who dominate and constantly play in and around the opposition box.

Think he might struggle in a lower half prem team who rely on counters etc
 
Pace is the issue I think, not something Azaz is blessed with and it may catch him out at the higher level. Incredibly intelligent though so he may be able to overcome it. As above strength as well perhaps.
 
Agree that it's Azaz's pace that might be the difference l, but I don't think it'll prevent him from playing at the top level. He'll do well under Carrick in the PL 👍

Hard to compare.

Rogers wasn’t here long enough to make a big contribution for us but Azaz is emerging as a key and classy player in a potential promotion push.
 
Rogers was just hitting his stride for us when he left. He was inconsistent for most of the season leading up to that, but he always had their rare combination of being tall but technically excellent (a la Zidane or the non Manure version of Pogba).

Azaz has been better for us, probably a lower ceiling, but love watching him play. Probably between him and Ramirez for the best #10 at championship level for us since Merson.

Compared today to even 5 years ago we have so many 8 figure playing assets Rav, Morris, Hackney, Azaz, lath, Conway all worth significant money. Maybe 100m between them. This is the benefit of having an attacking technical coach compared to a Warnock-type direct and physical coach
