Finally trumps tax records seized

exactly surely this must be the smoking gun as trump has done everything he can to stop people seeing them.
 
This is how they finally nail him. It is widely reputed that he was increasing the value of his properties with the banks (mainly Deuche Bank) for loans and then undervaluing for insurance and his tax returns.

He also claimed a 70 million ish rebate that the IRS want to look at because of this. The likely outcome is he has defrauded both banks and the tax man. As another poster alluded to here this how they got Capone and just like him it is NY AG that is leading this, it is going to be messy though and Trump will pull every trick imaginable over the coming months; it won't help him as long as the US justice system holds firm ... the only hope he has is the SC that he has stacked with ideologues and partisan hacks.
 
As the article says though, he'll likely appeal at Supreme Court - and didn't he fill it full of his own judges?

Well, Trump and his supporters is a mix of old Tea Party members, who are wealthy and white, and now we have the new generation who are very heavily linked with the Q Anon movement, Check our r/ the great awakening on Reddit (I think that's the correct subreddit) the craziness and literal worship of Trump by the people on there is insane.

This could (and likely will) lead to major civil unrest, its essential they go through the process though as letting Trump off for his litany of crimes and misdeeds sets a precedent that would be very difficult to come back from and destroy the political system in the US. Like here it relies to much on the presumption that the people in charge are honourable.
