Fikayo Tomori

Not really a surprise, he was already a peripheral squad player as is and he failed in both matches against Chelsea this season.

Probably not getting a fair crack of the whip in judgement, as he plays abroad, but I'm sure those two games will have been high in the thinking.

The Maddison decision is a poor one for me, but it's unsurprising.

Southgate knows this is probably his last tournament regardless, so I doubt he's going to bow to media pressure if he doesn't fancy him.

I don't see the point in taking Tomori, it's not like he's going to get a game, or we're going to bring him on when chasing a game against the better sides.

All the talk is of us taking like 9 defenders, yet only 6 midfielders (and one of those is Phillips), and only one real proven international goalscorer in Kane. Toney is probably the next most likely goalscorer, who is in form, but he's only got 20 prem goals, Wilson's always injured, Sterling well out of form.

This doesn't make much sense to me, hard to see what we can do to create or get goals if we're behind, especially if anything happens to Kane.

I think we're much weaker than people realise, especially going forward and creating chances. There's probably only Kane who might get in a World XI side, maybe even a World XI squad?

Really going to need the team to play well as a team, and be better than the sum of the individual parts, but thankfully GS has done that at the previous two tournaments.
