Fight in a north east pub over a pool game, not in Eston as per the Twitter feed 🎱

Jeez. That doesn’t look great!

I played in pool leagues for about 8 years. Used to play there from time to time. This looks more like locals than a league like.

Fair to say I played in some in some very interesting pubs across Teesside, that’s for sure. Not a month went by usually without somebody kicking off somewhere!

Can you imagine what would have happened if he had lost. 😳

South Shields apparently.

Police reaction.

A spokesperson for the force said: "On the evening of December 30th 2022, we were alerted to an altercation taking place within a pub on Prince Edward Road, South Shields.

"Officer attended the premises but those involved had already left and no reports outlining any injuries were made to police.

"CCTV of the incident is being reviewed by officers and enquiries are ongoing."

No arrests have been made.

The chap shouldn’t have thrown a pool ball and got a cue round the chops for his troubles.
I wonder what kicked it all off?

Yes, it was used as a setting for the original (Boys from the) Blackstuff pilot programme - they extras were all regulars.
I did not know that! pretty famous! I remember thinking it was a broom shop for.. longer than I should have.

Went in there for years, it used to be my go to place for New Years Eve. I remember it being canny for live music.. maybe for a small window of time.

a covers band ‘101’ always seemed to be the New Years band
