Not particularly bothered by the awards either way, but I do think that Emma Hayes was picked because she was a woman and they didn't want the controversy of awarding a man the Best FIFA Women's Coach award ahead of two women.

Barcelona won their 33 of 34 league matches, their domestic cup and the Champions League.
They obliterated Hayes' Chelsea in the Champions League final.

It's daft to give the award to the manager with the inferior record in that season.

I don't think the award was for best coach of a woman's team, it was woman coach of the year regardless if they coached a mans or woman's team!

That's not true, even just judging from the actual name of the award.

It's Women's Coach, not Woman Coach.

Also the fact that Lluis Cortes was one of the three nominees.

TeaCider is right its the best coach of a woman's team. Phil Neville came 3rd in it back in 2019 and Reynald Pedros won it in 2018 managing Lyon women's team
