Favourite cocktail?

I've been reading a drink about the history of the cocktail and it's got me wanting to try and wider my rather narrow cocktail repertoire.

What's everyone's favourite cocktail to order, and your favourite to make at home?

(Espresso Martini and Paloma respectively for me).

Oh, and this is the book if anyone is interested:

Like a Mojito on the beach.
Dry Martini when I'm lounging in a sophisticated manner.
Long Island Iced Tea when I fancy getting ***ed.
Balck Death ... when I... well these are the ingredients "Pint glass. Dble Pernod (or other aniseed based drink), dble rum, blackcurrant cordial, ice....top the glass up with dry cider)

Tried my first ever vodka martini on holiday this year. Not for me lol. 🤢

Pina Colada is the best when it is done right but it's often not. Same with Mojito. It's simple but getting the mint and sugar right seems to be very hit and miss.

I like an Old Fashioned, an Espresso Martini or a Whisky Sour as well.

One of my biggest gripes with ordering cocktails is I'm often disappointed that they are poorly made and they cost a fortune.

I love a Negroni when out and that would be my choice at home too, where I’ve tried a few variations - substituting the gin for tequila works surprisingly well.
