Agree about it taking them to a different level and showing their versatility, I appreciate it as an album but personally I'd rather listen to the albums before that, still has some great tracks, Charlie Don't Surf probably my favourite.
My fave varies ... heard “the call up” the other day... great track! Train in vain , as mentioned above” is brilliant- and to think it only just made it on to the album. You can hear the hurt and anger in Jones’ voice
Hard to say but probably Complete Control, White Man in Hammersmith Palais and Stay Free, also love Sandinista all three of the records kind of grows on you
agree there's been loads of brilliant songs
my faves include Spanish Bombs, safe european Homes,White riot,Garageband but ahead of them is Stay Free
I always remember so many of my mates hating Sandanista when it came out but I thought it was amazing. I guess it wasn't 'hard' enough for them, but for me it took them to a different level. Anyone else love or it hate it?
It took them into a higher orbit imho, it's my favourite Clash album even though they are only backing musicians on my favourite track
When I was about 17 around 2006 sort of time I met Mick Jones when he was playing in a band called Carbon Silicon, We shared a joint while I told him about Boro and he told me about QPR and a player from the 70’s called Stan Bowles. He couldn’t have been a nicer bloke. I do regret not really talking about the Clash though!particularly as Joe was a Chelsea fan and Mick , QPR.

Not my favourite song, but if this pops into my head I find myself laughing.
