Favourite Clash song?!

Agree about it taking them to a different level and showing their versatility, I appreciate it as an album but personally I'd rather listen to the albums before that, still has some great tracks, Charlie Don't Surf probably my favourite.

Yeah, that's fair. I think each album stands on its own, shows versatility and a different maturity.

My fave varies ... heard “the call up” the other day... great track! Train in vain , as mentioned above” is brilliant- and to think it only just made it on to the album. You can hear the hurt and anger in Jones’ voice

It will not surprise anyone (looking at my avatar) that Spanish Bombs is one of my favourites - when I was 15 it was probably Janie Jones, but they were so many good ones to choose from.

I had to laugh at Fulham last year when they played London Calling to try and spur the Fulham fans and team. It seems so out of character with middle class almost Yuppie Fulham of today.

I always remember so many of my mates hating Sandanista when it came out but I thought it was amazing. I guess it wasn't 'hard' enough for them, but for me it took them to a different level. Anyone else love or it hate it?

It took them into a higher orbit imho, it's my favourite Clash album even though they are only backing musicians on my favourite track

Yeah, again, so many friends hated this album, especially this song but I also loved it and played it to death to annoy em all!

particularly as Joe was a Chelsea fan and Mick , QPR.
When I was about 17 around 2006 sort of time I met Mick Jones when he was playing in a band called Carbon Silicon, We shared a joint while I told him about Boro and he told me about QPR and a player from the 70’s called Stan Bowles. He couldn’t have been a nicer bloke. I do regret not really talking about the Clash though!

Wow! That's a cracking story! And what a player Stan Bowles was... an original maverick.

Bankrobber has always been my favourite, I can’t stop singing it once its in my head, like now, much to the annoyance of everyone 😀
