I've been listening today, reminding myself of how insanely brilliant they were. Tough one, but my fave is 'Safe European Home'. And yours?
So many to chose from but would go for Train in Vain
Nov 17th 1978 - Middlesbrough Town Hall.
They opened up with Safe European Home - still one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
Not my favourite song, but if this pops into my head I find myself laughing.
I always remember so many of my mates hating Sandanista when it came out but I thought it was amazing. I guess it wasn't 'hard' enough for them, but for me it took them to a different level. Anyone else love or it hate it?

It's a great single album!
Love it too.
Top man. Songs like Broadway, for me, took them to a new level of real sophistication. And I didn't think I would say that about them!
A real sense of a gaze expanding out into the world. It's probably grown better as I've grown older and my gaze has expanded too.
Agree about it taking them to a different level and showing their versatility, I appreciate it as an album but personally I'd rather listen to the albums before that, still has some great tracks, Charlie Don't Surf probably my favourite.I always remember so many of my mates hating Sandanista when it came out but I thought it was amazing.
