Just admit you're on about the wrong player! Its Justin Fashanu who will be posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame - it was his brother John who was involved in the elbow incident that smashed Gary Mabbutt's eye socket - he hasn't been inducted into the Hall of Fame but I think you know that - plus he didn't retire because of that incident as he went on to play another 13 games for Villa in the following season and retired because he snapped his knee ligaments in a match against Man Utd

Purely for being the first openly gay professional footballer in England.
It's a significant milestone, even if he didn't achieve much of anything on the pitch.
