FAO Yusuf - you’ve helped influence the biggest change in a Boro message board

Personally I hope that the daylight shone on his comments has an impact on him. It's seems it may have done and if he's generally sorry then that's a good thing.
Only Yusuf can accept or reject his apology. I couldn't begin to guess what I'd do in his position.

My opinion of the person who posted this snivelling apology - based purely on his own suddenly-petrified self-interest - cannot be printed here. He has stalked me for 10 years, religiously followed my facebook account in order to copy/paste whatever he can and then post more of his hatred on that site. He has for years also been contacting companies fraudulently in my name asking them to send their stuff to the company he (wrongly) thinks are my employer. This has all obviously been hilarious to him. Truly pathetic stuff -and it's interesting to see him grovel now that he thinks there's a chance he might be exposed for something really serious.

Sorry Yusuf, no intention to hijack this thread. I hope him and his ilk do learn a lesson and I still hope you can change your mind.

Was going to say hopefully he does reflect and learn from his actions however after reading this he deserves everything coming his way.

Wow! If that's accurate (sorry Harry, I don't really know you) then it's despicable and he deserves everything he gets. That's horrific.

As if his stock couldn't get any lower, he bragged about upskirting/down blousing. Then repeatedly insinuated that I had some kind of carnal intentions towards my niece. It'll be "funny" if his identity is revealed through all this. Won't be funny for him like.

Some very very naughty stuff has been going on looking at HV’s and others posts above.

But Bolasie is spot on and Yusuf should try to listen to his many ‘supporters‘ for want of a better term.

Always remember -

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

The content of the above "My Post About Yusuf" post, to save you visiting. This is what the originator of the offending thread "Bernie" (a racist) has written tonight. Although he has been a toxic presence both on fmttm and COB, he should be allowed some credit for this, in my book.

"On Friday just gone i made a post on here asking why the club had picked Yusuf to carry out interviews, and suggested that it was due to his ethnicity.

The point i was clumsily trying to make was that the club were "Virtue signalling" and trying to portray themselves as being more diverse than our crowds reflect. The post was aimed at the club, not Yusuf himself. I was not aware that he read this board.

Looking back on my post, i can now see that it was incredibly crass, ill judged and in poor taste. I have never met Yusuf, i have never communicated directly with him or sent him messages though other media, and i don't ever recall discussing him on here before.

After my initial post i am told there were comments made by others which were racist. I didn't see them before the post was deleted, but if that's the case then i utterly condemn them. Nobody should be subjected to that.

I have been absolutely devastated to see the effect my post has had. I am heartbroken to read this evening that Yusuf has now decided not to go ahead with his interviews. The thought that i have had an impact on someone's mental health makes me feel ashamed. In an online world it's sometimes easy to forget that a message board posting can impact someones real life.

Yusuf, if you are reading please accept my full apologies for any upset my post may have caused you. I started my original post by saying "We need all the fans we can get" and i stand by that. It was never my intention to sleight you personally. My intention was to query the way the club promotes some fans over others.

I really hope that Yusuf can re-think his decision and move forward from this.

This episode has caused me to seriously look at my own online behaviour, particularly during lockdown, and i plan to take a long, likely permanent, break from social media.

Once again, i unreservedly apologise to anyone who may have been upset by my previous post."
I do not hold any grudges and I do accept the apology.

Was it your post that made the issues? Or have i read this badly wrong.

Yusuf , let me tell you I can very rarely recall threads dedicated to one individual receiving so many posts. This really shows how true Boro fans respect fellow Boro fans.

Back in 2013, my wife was wrongly diagnosed and when the true condition was found, she died 22 days after diagnosis. I shared this story on this forum - different username in those days. I was overwhelmed at the sheer number of posts from people I didn’t know at all. It was very humbling. The sincerity and good wishes were truly amazing.over 250 posts I recall.

I share this with you because it demonstrates what a special bunch us Boro fans are. And that is not something you find in every walk of life.

Reconsider on your decision- you would be doing it for all of us and of course yourself.

How heartwarming and lovely to see the reaction of boro fans. So sorry to hear of your loss

I have spoken to the club and they have left the door open. The series WILL happen when I am ready as they are super keen.
