The original group on COB were those from the BBC 606 Boro Board. When that shut, one of the lads (Steve) started a dedicated Messageboard. It started off well enough, but Steve didn't want to exercise any kind of censorship, which meant that slowly but surely it got overrun by the knuckle draggers and semi-literate. Pretty much all of the original 606 lot left years ago (me included).

Is that how it started? I remember years ago occasionally posting on the 606 board as it was one of the few sites not blocked at my old work. That’s probably why I signed up on COB but was barely active for a few months many years ago and joined FMTTM as it seemed busier, although I’ve always been more of a reader than a poster.

Anyway, head up Yusuf, do what you have to do feel yourself and try not to let the actions of a few cretins bring you down. Easier said than done I realise but know that you have the support of thousands in your corner. All the best.
 
Away Yusuf, you're a Teessider now. We're made of stronger stuff than that.

As I said to you the other day, take it with a pinch of salt. They're a small minority who thrive on being controversial. I'd imagine many of them who post on there don't even go to the games.

Take some time to reconsider your decision and I guarantee you'll see things differently in a few days time.

It’s far to easy to just ignore stuff that’s going on if it doesn’t directly affect you. Plenty of well intentioned grounded folks will have turned a blind eye or let things slide regarding that site in the past.
 
He should not quit he has earned this. Yusuf please consider your decision. I don't know why you get the hate and the last time I got blamed for targeting you ,when I did no harm or was beside a fake twitter account . Some of the fans base are no Boro fan (y)Traveling from London is not easy. I have meet Yusuf in person and he loves the club and like we all do. Driving him away from things he loves isn't on and its sick thing to do when we are in the lockdown.

Yusuf I'm very sad to read this. The individuals on there who spouted their bile and racist **** are an utter disgrace and an embarrassment to our club and area.

You are the very opposite, a credit. I'm so sorry you feel you have to pull back, but do understand.

I hope that they are prosecuted and that you feel able to change your mind.

At the end of the day there are two types of people, FIRSTLY there are those that think that peoples, skin colour, religion, sexuality, gender, country of birth and ethnicity are not important, it's what's in their hearts and how they treat people that matters; SECONDLY there are C#**$

It's really that simple.

I signed up to C...sOfBoro.com many moons ago, then realised how awful it was and never bothered posting.
 
I am absolutely disgusted at the vile people who have the audacity to refer to themselves as Boro fans and behave in a vile racist way toward Yusuf or anyone else for that matter.
Yusuf, many many Boro fans were really proud to welcome you as a Boro fan when we first became aware. You have travelled the country proudly cheering Boro on. I have seen you a few times at away games in the past. You set a great example on how to support Boro with dignity and passion, long may that continue, you are a credit to our club mate 👍
 
I understand the anger and rage on this and other threads but until something is done about it we wont make any inroads into getting rid of this sort of horrendous stuff in society.

Examples should now be made. starting with a no tolerance policy on overt racism on public messageboards. Close them down if they cant make efforts to prevent malicious content.
