What would you say were your favourite Boro team growing up, favourite players, best 5 games & top 10 songs artists

Mine is 73-74 season without a doubt, matches I will sit down & post, music, you'll love mine lads 😁

The point of the thread is to talk about something that's common to us all & forever in our hearts.......... the mighty Boro

May I start with saying my 5 are not particularly my favourite, but part of growing up as a Boro

18th January 1972 Boro 1 Man City 0 3rd round replay
My 1st ever FAC match, boysend along with my younger brother, our dad stood in the bobend seperate by a wall

6th April 1974 Boro 8 Sheff Weds 0
Not so much the score, which was as good as it got, but the 1st match I went in to the holgate, my dad told me on the morning of the game, right son we'll go in the Holgate today, don't know why my younger brother didn't go, unless he went with his mates in the boys end, the strange thing about the game, with 8 goals scored, after match celebrations, the only thing I rev call about the fame was Stuey Boam hitting the crossbar in the 1st half

January 1975 Boro 3 Sunderland 1 FAC 4th round, my favourite FAC ever, in my favourite away strip, I'm lucky to own the No12 shirt, which I have since had 6 players from that game sign the shirt

I got into watching the Boro as a student at Teesside Uni in the 90s. First week I was up here, Sept 92 I think, Boro vs Man Utd at Ayresome park. i believe it was Bernies last ever Boro goal? First Boro game would have been the league cup game earlier in the year vs Peterborough at London Rd but I was in the home end with my brother!! Think it was a 0-0?? I know the replay was called off at short notice on the day of the game, I worked at the time with a Posh fan who went!. I’m not very good at remembering details of games sorry 😂

Hi Aet, you're right it was Bernies final Boro goal, 3rd of October, he scored his 1st goal at the same end (holgate) & same month

Thing is Alvez, I constantly worry, through the day, during the night I wake up then go to the bathroom & as I drift off my mind is, racing, I don't get down, but constant worry
I try to read other books, which I enjoy, but at present my mind continues to drift, talking, posting & reading Boro books is best for me to look at things

I remember that game, two things stand out in my memory. How incredibly fast Giggs was on the wing for them, and going absolutely mental when Bernie scored. I'm still not sure why but i I completely lost it, embarrassingly so! 😂

So my favourite team would probably be a toss up between the 96/97, 97/98 and the 2003/04 team for obvious reasons 😍

Favourite players:
Juninho, Traore, Pearson, Festa, Southgate, Ugo, Dean Gordon, Queudrue, Gazza, Merson, Marco Branca, Mendieta, Zenden, Gibson, Ayala, Emerson, Rav, Schwarzer, Mustoe, Boateng, Hasselbaink, Viduka, Downing (first spell), Leadbitter, Randolph...

Best give games would probably be:
Carling Cup Final
Steaua Bucharest semi final second leg
Beating Newcastle in the League Cup 96/97
Beating Man Utd 3-2 at Old Trafford (Dean Gordon's volleyed winner)
Beating Sunderland 2-1(?) away in 97/98 with another Emerson stunner 😍
