FAO Qatar boycotters

Apart from the England games I’ve probably watched an hour- ten minutes here and tiger of other games. I’m not feeling it at all!

well yes I did. Sheriff did make a suggestion. Instead of not watching and doing no good to anyone, give something to charity and watch it. Poor as excuses go, but, it is what it is.
Well a strong willed Laughing would have still gave the £20 & not watched it 😉

I've barely watched any games since I got back from qatar, where I saw five games live and most of the others on a big screen. I tend not to watch games on the telly in the uk, mainly because I haven't got one. I'm in a hotel in Leeds tonight as my wife is going to see The Cure, but rather than watch portugal on the telly I'm at Featherstone Rovers ground to see Wakefield AFC take on Parkgate in a tier 10 game.

I've not watched anything. I'm not boycotting because I think Qatar is a uniquely repulsive regime; I'm simply not excited enough by what's on offer to endure the cumulative downside of the 'product'.

Not watched any and not bothered
I didn’t even watch the euros final when I was in Canaries

I’ve done what I said I probably would, and hypocritically started watching the England knock out games. Nothing else seen so far and next to no interest beyond us.
This is pretty much me, I watched the Iran/USA game as my mate is Iranian and I was desperate for them to win. The only other game I’ve watched the full 90 minutes of was England/Senegal.

It’s the mother in laws birthday Saturday so we have plans so not sure if I’ll get to watch the QF but as a few have said I’m more excited about the return of boro than the anything the WC offers.

Only watched England games (which I've had to "locate" online because I'm at the mercy of the crooks who run my apartment complex here in the US, and their crummy basic TV package doesn't include any decent channels). When we're out of the tournament, I won't watch any of the remaining games, even the final.

for me it's the participation of the crowds from the different countries which makes everything so vivid and more to the point why we love this game so much. Granted, the awarding of the tournament to Qatar probably didn't hit all the right spots and we know why. However, the feedback from many of the fans has been incredible, due in part to the accessibility of the stadiums, and the orderly nature of the games-- i.e. no trouble etc. As for the games, do we really expect all the games to be ripped with excitement? Probably not but, I doubt that any world cup has been 100 percent end-to-end theatre, or PC, or just the dream finals, they've all been kind of 50-50 in terms of quality. At least now we're seeing genuine on and off the field drama, which is more you can say for other sports.

It's been the best World Cup I've seen, the standard of football, the crowd participation, 4 games a day! Hopefully going to get a lot better Saturday evening 🤞

Was boycotting, ended up putting matches on tablet while I work from home. Well it beats radio 2 and Scott makin on tees. Every now and again I catch matches on evening but they have no pull and I’ll take dog out or go shopping mid game. I started doing this for premier league since VAR and the greed made it like it is.

It’s been great so far
It really has mate I agree. Some of the football that's been offered has been fantastic to watch. Highlights including the journeys of Japan and Australia, England getting it right when Southgate plays players who should be playing and not those he's favouring and obviously the upsets with Germany, Belgium and now Spain been knocked out.

Head says it's Brazil's world cup to lose, they absolutely tore South Korea to pieces. My heart will always say England though, he just has to let the team pick itself.

Only watched short highlights clips on BBC News pages: a couple of England games, one France game and that ludicrous Brazil game.

Will you crack and flick it on though?
No.

Like I said not watching it has been very easy. Not even been tempted to catch half an hour.

Been silly busy with work and had a load of other things taking my time up, so worked out pretty well really.

Hope the people watching it enjoy it, and England win 👍

In total I have watched the last 20 mins of the Wales Iran match and about half an hour of the Brazil Korea exhibition match. I must admit I'm starting to get a bit more invested. I was curious about the Morocco match yesterday.

Speaking off: is that the first time Two countries have meet in the world cup where one of them has some of the other countries land and the occupied country has won?
