No it's not a Facebook scam, just banks offering you money to switch. The HSBC one is even offering you £205 just to open an account
I use Moneybox and PlumNationwide used to be great for it as you could refer a friend to switch and get £100 each, max 5x per year
Protip:
Open a free bank account to use for switching, put £100 in it and some tiny DD's and use that for switching
Check terms some have minimum pay in requirements but you can transfer money in and straight out
As long as you close accounts as you go (switching service takes care of it) they usually each have a date you can't have had a bonus paid since but it resets every few years as shown on the linksI used to do this but have pretty much exhausted it now. Simple way to make a bit of money but many people just can't be arsed!
If you are unsure if you meet the date criteria (as I was) you can request your credit report which shows you when you have opened and closed accounts. As long as you close accounts as you go (switching service takes care of it) they usually each have a date you can't have had a bonus paid since but it resets every few years as shown on the links
Have you moved recently? Do you have access to your credit report to see any linked accounts?Me and other family members tried to open the HSBC Advance last night. We were all refused. None of us have bad credit and have plenty of savings
I believe this is only when you apply for an account with an overdraft facility otherwise it's just a soft searchAlso for those concerned, it does affect your credit rating.
I love moneybox. saved £1.3K in 18 months but just rounding up the shopping to whole pounds. Takes 3 months to get money out but an easy easy winner for me.Moneybox
I hit a rating of 1000 2 months ago, still not sure if that is good or badAlso for those concerned, it does affect your credit rating.
Nope. All good on everything.Have you moved recently? Do you have access to your credit report to see any linked accounts?
Credit "scores" are meaningless and only used by people looking at their own scoreI hit a rating of 1000 2 months ago, still not sure if that is good or bad
It might but only in the short term. They recommend not switching a lot if you are applying for a mortgage or big loan.I believe this is only when you apply for an account with an overdraft facility otherwise it's just a soft search
I went for a Natwest burner account and was initially refused but I appealed and they sent an apology letter saying that they had reviewed my application and I could call them up and get the account sorted. Didn't bother as I had already secured a Starling one.Have you moved recently? Do you have access to your credit report to see any linked accounts?
