Face coverings to be mandatory on public transport

But why does it have to start in Monday 15th, why not Monday 8th, or indeed Friday 5th?

Presumably to allow those that haven't yet acquired face coverings the time to do so I guess.

Edit although that doesn't really make sense as I guess a scarf over your face would suffice

Everything in dribs and drabs, policy on the back of a fag packet. Next there will be clarifications and exemptions no doubt. But from the 15 June! If they're suddenly deemed necessary after 3 months of infecting why not from tomorrow. Same farce as the 14 day quarantine. They haven't a clue

Edit - only in England?????

“When asked whether the recommendation was likely to be adopted across the UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the government's position had not changed and that there was "weak science" supporting the advice.”

A cynic might say that the 14th will see a reduction in the 2m rule being thrown in as well.

Exactly gentlemen. Everything they are announcing is days or weeks ahead. What about the right now?
It's all guesswork. Has anybody from the government commented on the lack of social distancing and face coverings at the London protests the other day?

Im currently offshore and not back till June 17th, so that'll be a fun 6 hour train journey home. Right decision though
