Anyway,great race, love a wet one. Thought the wing choice fit Verstappen was madness given the obvious chance of rain. Also thoughtPiastri screwed it up with his braking, his own fault, hit the pedal too hard.
 
Verstappen and RB team gambling with the conditions cost them today but what choice do they have?

I think they can pull a few stunts to get the headlines that Max is on pole but the McLarens were so dominant today in the wet and the dry that it’s starting not to matter any more. If it wasn’t for the safety cars the gap would have been even bigger.

The only contest this season is between Lando and Piastri. Max will be noisy and little else. Despite today the Ferraris are improving so they could start to disrupt things.

Alonso is the only top level teammate Hamilton ever had, and was still beaten in the same car by Rosberg and Russell
In his prime, Bottas was his main competition

Where does this narrative come from that he has beaten top level drivers season after season in the same car?

Minus Alonso, both Hamilton and verstappen have had fairly average teammates, as top drivers always do

Yeah RB have nothing to race for, not going to win either title so can afford to take a risk, but no one is touching the McLaren this year. If it wasn’t for the safety car they would have lapped the entire field, it might be the best f1 car ever made, which is remarkable considering they were last two years ago
 
It was so good to watch that príck spin costing him a chance at a podium finish.

5th place after starting 1st on the grid isn’t a great drive, even in those conditions.

He well and truly f*cked it and it was beautiful to see 😍

What a drive by Nico though. Fully deserved podium finish.

As for Oscar, very naughty what he did to Max, which was wonderful to witness.
 
Really hope the rule change brings a different title fight next year because one of these two are going to be the worst driver to win the championship in a very long time
Need Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso, Leclerc, Russell etc back at the top for the sake of the sport

Hamilton's teammates include 3 WDCs. I'm not sure that you could call any WDC "average".

But both LH and MV are clearly great drivers. LH is clearly past his best now.

Hamilton was well past his best by the time Russell showed up at Mercedes. Rosberg was a good driver, he still won less races than Hamilton the year who won the WDC. In fact if it wasn’t for Hamilton’s engine blowing up in Malaysia he would have won it. Not that it should take away from his achievement mind.

It’s difficult to really compare because in Hamilton’s prime when he won most of his titles, it was only really Rosberg then Bottas as the main competition, Seb was in the fight but was never going to win a title with that Ferrari team
Verstappen hasn’t had top level team mates, but did beat Hamilton to a title, and set records that would never be matched again in 23, and then won last year without having the quickest car

You could make the same argument for any top driver though, they aren’t going to have a top level teammate to compare to

Sorry, but Hamilton shouldn't be spoken in the same context as Verstappen when it comes to cheating and pushing boundaries.

Max has a World Championship to his name due to cheating, Hamilton doesn't.

And I won't even get into the regular bullying Max does on the track.

The team got a penalty for exceeding a spend cap, that’s not the same as a driver cheating
At the same time, Hamilton has a wdc as a direct result of a fixed race, again nothing to do with Hamilton but thats what the end result was
