I admire the principles of this and there is some fantastic ideas behind this especially raising awareness around the globe of climate issues and fighting for gender equality in motorsport

but why start such an ethical project in SAUDI ARABIA.

surely they are the anathema to everything this series is about both in and out of the car.
 
That was exactly my reaction when I heard about it on the wireless this morning. It's not yesterday, is it?
 
Yeah. "Hey, lets have a race that promotes gender equality and sustainable energy" Where shall we stage the first race?

Yeah, that sounds like an ideal country!

Still we get to see Jamie Chadwick race. So that's a good thing. She is utterly superb
 
yes I think it’s an amazing concept with huge names backing the teams but to then start it in one of the most pernicious regimes on earth seems a bit counter productive.

Not being funny but can you give me an example of that? The one that always springs to mind is the sporting boycott of South Africa, exactly the opposite.

My guess is Saudi offered the most money specifically to create the perception that they are modernising. Whether they are or not I couldn’t comment as I’ve never been there but my guess is that they’re more interested in the PR of it.
 
Well what a farce this turned into as all that dust made any race all but impossible even kristofferson said after the first corner all the racing is over. And zero visibility for tv coverage as well.

Maybe the ice and jungle one will be better

don’t like the fan boost element either I was hoping they wouldn’t carry this over from formula e.
