Everton in for Hackney - Sky Sports

Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas:

Everton are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney.

It is understood the Merseyside club have been making checks on his price and availability this summer as they look to sign a new defensive midfielder.

The likes of Brentford, Fulham, Crystal Palace and West Ham have also been monitoring Hackney for some time - but so have clubs from Europe, especially Germany.

While Porto have been expected to follow up their January interest with another move, Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen also have Hackney on their lists.

The 23-year-old was part of the England U21 squad that won the Euros last month, playing in four out of the six matches, including the semi-final against Holland.

A product of Boro's academy and with two years left to run on his current contract, Hackney has scored nine goals in almost 100 Championship games for the club.

Last thing we want to signal is that we are in a rush to sell....or it may take longer due to s***y low starting offers.

The world already knows we are open for business on HH...let's just see.

Calm heads..

Hes going to go so need to get it done as early as possible and give his replacement at least a couple of pre-season games with the squad.

I really don't want to see Barlaser starting our first game of the season. That would just be a result of not being fully prepared for the season. Throwing points away in the first few games of the season and in February as we find our best team has been typical over Scott's tenure. I have aportioned Carrick with some of that blame as hes thrown new players straight in, often not in their strongest positions but the late transfer dealings certainly don't help.

This is so funny, new way of saying a load of bollox. He's not a fb mktplace item where you have to ask Is this still available mate? And he's not a stock market either with price going up or down 5% daily depending on external factors. HH going nowhere this summer. Rav on the other hand 70% more believable that something will happen for him, and we don't need sell both , don't really NEED sell either but Rav can go and wave his hands up in the air at other teammates trying to point out its all down to them .

Just read the report ... "it is understood the Merseyside club have been making checks on his price and availability this summer as they look to sign a new defensive midfielder."

Whos gunna tell them haha

They just have to read this Board to get an idea of the price…….

Everton would be a bad move IMO for Hackney. I don’t mind Moyes and he gets a lot of bad press which is unfair because of how his teams play….. but he generally gets results. …..i just don’t see Hackney being a fit in a Moyes team. I don’t see that at all tbh

Said the exact same thing yesterday to a mate, if HH and Rav are going then lets get them out of the door ASAP.

No drawn out sagas etc.
Looking at the transfer buisness we've done to address the glaring weknesses in the squad already this window (too many people called Josh), I have no concerns at all about losing our two best players after the season has begun.

I think HH is definetly leaving this summer mate. It's more a questions of where is he going.
