Everton fans gutted surely at appointment ?

Sean Dysche doesn’t strike me as a natural Everton manager and I’d expect the majority of their fans are promptly devastated 🤔

One of my best mates is a Toffee and is distraught. He says there is no point staying up as they will just go down next season even if they stay up. Allardyce 2.0 he says.

And now they are trying to spunk 40+ million on Gallagher!

they are well and truly f cked if they get relegated

He's the best they could have hoped for whilst sitting in the bottom 3.

He's the best bet for safety.

It's Everton fans for you. They think their club is bigger than it is.

They're a middle PL club and have been for the best part of 25 years with a couple of decent seasons in between.

My better half and her dad are toffees, they've wanted Dyche, just a matter of staying up until the stadiums ready and the finances are better.

Most Everton fans on the bbc article seem like they want him

General consensus in the football community is this is a good appointment with 700 comments on the site

You can almost predict Dyche’s starting XI for his first game… good old 442

Pickford

Coleman
Keane
Tarkowski
Mykolenko

Iwobi
Onana
Coady
McNeil

DCL
Maupay

My Everton mates are happy (well not happy, they are Everton fans). They realise the position they are in is probable relegation and Dyche is either a solid choice for safety and/or a solid choice for promotion if they do go down.

They are probably like most Boro fans were with Pulis. Mostly accepting of the situation and respecting of his credentials for the task in hand but can't wait to betray him and stab him in the back at the first sign of trouble. Poor Tone.

it's a bit of an extreme reaction isn't it? I'd say the chances are that he'll steady the ship. It won't be pretty, but he kept Burnley up for a few years so can very much do it with Everton

This particular mate is very much at the end of his tether with Everton.

TBH, they have been going nowhere for like 30 years though haven't they.

I'd back him to keep them up.

Appointing a manager on any other basis would surely be delusions of grandeur in their situation.

Maybe Everton fans are gutted, but it's only reality kicking in.
