Ever seen a Geordie lift a cup?

Well I still remember Bobby Moncur lift one in 1969. And I still enjoyed (honestly I did) Bobby Kerr lift the FA Cup in 1973.
My non football mate said that Moncur was a right pain at the sailing club. Maybe still is I dunno.

He’s Scottish though.

Moncur = Jock
Kerr = Jock
So neither count

Oh I didn't think that needed an explanation but Southgate is not a Teessider is he?
Nobody's suggesting he is - but the question in the song is "Have you ever seen a Geordie win a cup"
We'll end it now eh?

Well the irony is that whilst poking fun at geordies which is fair enough we are not really in a position to do so as a Teessider has never lifted a cup.

Does Stewart Downing lifting the League Cup with Boro and Liverpool not count?

I once saw a Geordie lift their last proper cup. It was in black and white on a dvd my Newcastle supporting mate at work lent me once. It was that Jackie Milburn they all go on about in 1955. That’s not far off 70 years ago - nearly a full lifetime. In fairness to my mate when I pointed this out to him he just laughed and agreed they were crxp.

That Fairs Cup win - I’m sure there was something funny (peculiar) about that but I can’t remember what it was.
