Watching TV last night, the youngest in bed so just me the wife and our 12 year old lad.

The Mrs falls asleep (because its past 8pm!) and my lad without prompting gets up, gets a blanket out of a little basket we have in the room and puts it over his mam, sit back down and carries on watching TV.

I was taken aback a little, and thought good on you son.... maybe he isnt a little cnut after all.

It was a nice little reminder that maybe the wife and I (mostly her) are doing alright haha.

You can tell its the international break

Oh I, a single person close to 50 years old, am so jealous.
But that's it. Thai people nowadays, even if they get married, they usually don't like to have children.
Come on, today's economy. Being burden-free is our first priority.
Enjoy your happiness, lucky father.

Yeah, my 8 year old had a **** day at school the other day. When I picked him and his younger brother up, he told us in the car and got upset.

The youngest then spent the next 15 minutes writing different messages of support on his etch a sketch type toy for his brother to cheer him up.

Best job in the world being a dad like.

Aye its funny, every so often these little pain in the ar5es come up with moments that justify continuing to clothe and feed them!

Heart warming moments. My 7 year old was laid on the sofa just mucking about, her mum sat next to her. I came in the room and she looks at me smiling and says 'I love you Daddy'. Whatever work **** I was mentally processing went right out the window and cheered me up no end.

Kids, who'd have 'em.

No wonder the world's going soft, you should have told him to man up.

I think it is brilliant that kids can share their issues with us and that we bring them up in a safe environment that encourages them to do so. I don't think I once had a conversation with my dad about how my day had gone and if I had, I think I would have got the message I wrote above. It took me years and a lot of love from my wife to get me to open up about how I feel.

I recently found a note that I had kept from my youngest son the other day from when he was seven years of age, he's now 27. The note read how he had enjoyed just the two of us going fishing and was asking if we could do it again. On the note, he had drawn the two of us fishing. I was working away from home at the time and he slipped the note in my bag to find when I got to the digs.

They grow up too fast to whinge about them, enjoy each and every moment you can, life soon goes by in the blink of an eyelid.
