Being stuck in the house is starting to bore me a bit and so watching some films I've got in my Sky box that I've never seen before. I watched L.A. Confidential yesterday which was a fantastic film (can't believe its taken nearly 25 years for me to see it) and The Disappearance of Alice Creed which was also very good IMHO.

Today I've watched Cold War which personally I thought was an amazing film and am about to watch Loveless.

I really like foreign cinema and have a thing for Kieslowskos Three Colours Trilogy and Dekalog series'.

However I'm guilty of not watching enough foreign cinema so can anyone recommend other foreign films that are worth watching?

I've got Cinema Paradiso somewhere on DVD that I've shamefully never got round to watching but can't be bothered to go hunting in the garage for it so any other recommendations would be very welcome as I've still got a week of isolation to fill! Thanks.

All Jean-Pierre Jeunet films are worth watching, particularly Delicatessen and Amelie.

If you can track it down Jules Dassin's Rififi, it's just brilliant and one of my favourite films ever.

The Killer by John Woo is good and showcases some of the set pieces he used elsewhere when he made it in Hollywood.

There's loads more out there, these are the first few that pop into my head, but @bumface seems fairly clued up on foreign cinema from what I've read, might be worth tempting him onto a post.....👀

I agree LA Confidential is a fantastic film.

Thanks for the recommendation FatCat. I temperature when City of God came out it got some fantastic reviews so will have a look for that. Cheers.
I think the unique thing was that they weren’t actors just real street kids - I think there are two films and it actually spawned a series which is quite good also.
