Anyone been? Any good? Just me and the boy (will be 8yo next year when thinking of going for a week). Any thoughts / experiences appreciated. Cheers

Yes, we have been to the Netherlands Beekse Bergen one twice and loved it each time. Two adults and a young child (at the time 4/5 year old).

Ring direct and they’ll give you best prices. They have deals with travel companies too. We went over using our own car so got the overnight P&O ferry from Hull and they got the return £80 cheaper than I could using various websites and offers.

When you get to the sites there are usually different companies on each sites with own plots. Eurocamp have own tents and English staff to deal with any queries and advise you what to do/where to go/ things to see etc. Had a problem with radiator the second time but went out for day and was sorted by time I returned. Nothing but good things to say from my experience.

There are two other sites we as a family are going to try and one of my friends tried a site in the south of France and again had nothing but good things to say?

Where are you thinking of going?

Went to Vendee years ago when the kids were nippers.
Coulnd’t fault eurocamp and have recommended it to many people since. Everyone I know has had a top time.
Well run, great people, great set up

Highly recommend

Can't vouch for what it is like now but my children (grown up now) always say our eurocamp holidays were the best we had.

On the other hand my wife says she hated them.

Are they excclsuivley for families?

The other half want to go to one at the end of the summer and I think it sounds great. However if it's family orientated I think I'll give it a swerve.

No they're not exclusively for families, but most sites are fairly family orientated.

Brings back memeories, last time I used Eurocamp was June 1989, went witht he kids the old fella and my brother and his family. Its changed dramatically no doubt.

You could book up virtually every western European country except Holland, you could even book up most of scandanavia. We did Normandy, Houlgate - La Plage which had German fortifications from the D-day landings and direct access to the landing beaches. 4 days there.
Penestin Les Iles Southern Brittany 6 days.
St Hilliare de riaz Vendee 6 days.
I enjoyed Normandy the most, purely for the D-day landings and the people were nicer too.

All set up and the sites were excellent. Used to get a local OS map for each site area, departed ferry Brittany Ferry Portsmouth to Caen. All changed now so its not much use for you...sorry

Thanks all for the info and feedback, greatly appreciated. Sounds like it might be a good option to investigate further. Cheers 👍

stayed near sarlat last year and in verdon south of france. absolutely superb. get one with air con and a BBQ. the local supermarkets sell massive selections of bbq meat and red wine :p:p:p

I think the grand daughter went with her friends family to the Dol-de-Bretagne, and got a £70 flight from Newcastle they hired a car from the airport.

Dol de Bretagne was (15 yrs ago) a brilliant site. Had so much amenities for kids.
As a family we spent about 12 years having at least one, sometimes two trips a year to Eurocamp type sites in France. Kids talk about them even now.
When looking don't forget Keycamp who also operate on all the same sites.
