Euro Disney

Having been to Florida and Euro Disney years ago I always wondered why they built it in France. Have a nice day US style vs some miserable sod who couldn't care less. It was like chalk and fromage.
Hate to break it to but they dont really mean it when they say 'ya'll have a nice day'

Been to Disney Florida 7 times. Great family holidays and the kids thought it was magical (as they got older Universal was their favourite)Family who came to Florida with us went to Disney Paris once. They descibed it as being full of people working there who think they should be doing better in life. Miserable and thinking they are doing you a favour.

We stayed in one of the hotels and had so many meals included with the stay.
The food in the onsite themed restaurants was roundly hated by the kids 11 and 8). The massive buffet food in the hotel was loved by the kids. We snaffled pastries from breakfast to eat onsite and drank water you could get from the odd drinking fountain on the park.
Kids had picket money for tat they could save our sirens each day so no going overboard on merch.
Staying off-site can be cheaper but after we factored in car hire, speeding tickets etc. it wasn't much different in price.

:ROFLMAO: This escalated quickly. I love this site sometimes for giving solid advice and answering questions directly.

I haven't been to Disney so therefore here's what I think; stay at home and get the Mrs to dress up as Mickey Mouse.

Hope this is as useful as the other answers.
Put the tissues and lube down

Went to Florida for my honeymoon and did all the main parks. Universal was by far the best, City Walk was a brilliant day out.

Although I did enjoy Disney Springs especially on the night time having a few drinks outside.

If you really want to go to Disney, go to Disneyland in Anaheim. It's smaller, much more manageable, and you can stay off the premises much more easily.

There are loads of hotels on Harbor Blvd, just across from the main gate.

When you've had enough of Disney, go to Knotts Berry Farm or Universal Studios or Magic Mountain.

When you've had enough of theme parks, go to the beach at Marina del Rey or Santa Monica. When you've had enough of that then go to Death Valley, but don't get lost.

Honestly, don't go to any Disney anywhere - go to PortAventura near Tarragona (used to be Universal Studios European park many years ago) - far, far, far, better rides, atmosphere, food, clientele, just everything

Been quite a while back, over 15 years in fact.

But I find if you have children then, Disney Land Paris is better for children up to 10/11 year old (providing the magic with Disney in them is still alive!), then Disney Land Florida is better for 12+ to enjoy all the rides at all the theme parks and water parks.

Florida is miles better for obvious reasons - but it's a lot more expensive. You can do Disney Land Paris over a few days, whereas Florida I think you need at least 2 weeks to soak it all in (ideally 3 weeks so you get a couple of 'rest' days in between).

Went there last year for the first time. It was okay, enjoyed the Ferrari Land area more than the other parts. Would say it's a totally different vibe to Disney though.

It is indeed a different vibe - less in your face, less commercialised, cheaper, nicer people - each of the different areas have their own individual atmospheres and vibes as well.

The fact the park stays open until 5am on a number of days during peak season is also impressive, if that sort of thing floats your boat

Didn't get away with Ferrari Land at all - ironically it has more of a "Disney" feel about it

Anyone done it and if so any tips to try and keep the total cost down?
disney paris is unreal. absolutely love the place.

cost wise you could drive. its about 3 hours from calais and a straightforward drive.

other (better) option is eurostar, got to do it once, its a great experience. the train doesn't go direct now so you change at lille but over the way from the station is a massive shopping centre to break the journey up and get something to eat. you can add on the disney bag drop off if you are staying on site so you dump your bags in the station and can go straight into the park, the bags are then taken to your hotel for you.

we have stayed in the Cheyenne twice and centre parcs once. the cheyenne is walking distance to the parks and centre parcs is about 20 minutes on a bus. not much to do for the kids at centre parcs but the swimming centre is absolutely amazing.

regarding cost it is what you make of it. quick service food places are reasonable but as soon as you sit down anywhere it ramps up. there is a decent sports bar in the village outside that does pizzas etc for cheap. but some of the restaurants inside the park are crazy prices.

we found clothing was outrageous in price and the kids only picked up a few toys. depends what you are after.
