white out kit with a sliver/grey errea badge on it? utter garbage (great cause tho)

Makes me laugh this sometimes. Its not Errea, Hummel , adidas , that are the issue , its how the club deals with them.

Yep, I don't think you need to be a commercial expert to understand it all comes down to contract management.

Whats in the specification? Now it's no secret boro insist on some pretty unique, bespoke conditions. Primarily that they can only sell the shirts in the club shop. It's a clause that is designed to ensure the highest margin possible for the club. Fair enough.

But you'd imagine it must have knock on consequences. If it benefits the club, the supplier then is going to lose out surely? Can't imagine it puts us at the top of the queue for reorders.

It also presumably impacts on the unit cost as the supplier needs to make money on the shirts too. If they're not making as much from the sales, you'd think they'd be charging more to the retailer. Or cutting down on production costs/quality. Or both.

And given the club shop appears to prioritise margin over everything else, I dont think it's a shock we end up with low quality products, regardless of manufacturer.

Adidas being the best quality, but probably because they were just taking a template shirt and sticking a badge on it.

I just hate how much space the sponsor takes on our kits. I wore the away shirt this week from our last PL season (the navy with light blue) and it was noticeable how much better a kit is when the sponsor doesn't dominate it. The quality of the material is really noticeable as well on that adidas kit.

Looking at this link it was that last PL season when we had a reasonably sized sponsor. Hopefully we can get back to that. The club needs to be stronger and push back on the sponsors. It makes the designs difficult to get right when you need three rows of text, logo and slogan. Some of the kits since 2017 would look way better if they had a 2017 sized sponsor. It should be a boro kit first, not a gambling billboard.

I remember when this shirt came out and someone started a thread called "things you can see from space". Everyone knew exactly what it was going to be a joke about 🤣.

Honestly the state of it.

a stone cold classic ruined by the wine gum and poor treatment of the badge (we should have gotten rid of the badge by this point tbh)

That black one with just the red text sponsor and see through badge would have been great.

agreed I liked alot of the adidas kits
we also had the white band shirt with no sponsor during that run.. the strange thing is ppl constantly saying you have to have a cookie cutter shirt from adidas.. doesnt this disprove that?

Strangely enough , not as many of the adidas shirts were as template as most claim, great write up
