Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock is coming under pressure from fans
Middlesbrough supporters have called for the departure of boss Neil Warnock following their side's 1-0 defeat by Reading.
Alen Halilovic grabbed the only goal of the game 10 minutes into the second half when he turned in John Swift's low cross.
Boro were largely poor throughout but pushed hard for an equaliser in the latter stages.
Their cause was not helped when Matt Crooks was given a harsh red card in the 86th minute for leaving a boot in on Luke Southwood.
Goalkeeper Joe Lumley came up for two corners at the death and headed narrowly wide in virtually the last action of the game.
Royals deserved their victory, though, winning for the third successive game in the Championship.
Defeat for Boro was their third in the past four matches and Warnock has overseen just two victories all season.
The Teessiders lie 18th in the league standings with nine points and just four above the bottom three.
For some fans, it is not enough and a number reacted to the result on social media by calling for Warnock's head.

Saved us when we needed him. But we should let him leave before it goes toxic and we all know how bad it can get. Absolutely dreadful football and players who don’t have a clue how to string a couple of passes together, pathetic.

More words of wisdom from Neil (I was saying to the lads every game we played this season we should have won). Get a grip Neil, we have been a shambles all season, we have been lucky not to lose more games. Warnock has to go.
Ian @GaylesIan
How many 20 goals a season strikers have we had here that flop, so the problem is not the strikers, it’s this silly side-to-side then back tactics we use, passing the ball in midfield doesn’t win you games.

Need to have shots at opponents goal and score a few to win football matches.

Neil. Boro have just been ridiculed on TV. Reading [had] no keeper, no CB, no CF. And we got beaten 1-0. You need to do a Strachan and walk away with nothing.

Not one for jumping the gun but if I was Steve Gibson I would be having dinner with Eddie Howe and be lining him up.

Get him out. We need someone who plays a different style not just hoying it to Isaiah Jones.

Did he really say that he thought we could win that game, was he actually watching the same game as the rest of us? #WarnockOUT
Currie @TomElliotCurrie
So if he can’t fault the lads for their effort, surely it’s his tactics that are losing us games?
We're Middlesbrough! @We_are_Boro
So he can’t fault the players, then he needs to take full blame then. Hasn’t been good enough over the last season and a bit and isn’t showing signs of getting any better. You could put his post match interviews on repeat and you’d never know.
Mikey @mikeydennis7
Can’t fault the players? So we’re faulting his tactics then. Club statement.
Bob @BobP9000
I really believe he doesn’t think he is doing anything wrong, very worrying.

Post match sacking, please.
