agreed completely, the sides between about 98 and 2014 were full of more top quality players than this one. Just look at 2001 vs Germany and 2022 vs Germany

Agreed. Some absolutely stinking performances tonight from big players, the manager can’t take the blame for individual mistakes or off performances.
It’s still 4 games though in the build up to a World Cup. 4 games where you want to see something to build on going into the World Cup, instead everyone feels negative and we have played some of the worst football we have in a long time and the manager is playing right backs left back and continues to pick people who aren’t doing it for England such as Phillips. calm down, we're not, some players need a kick up the butt, some need easing out, but this is a 2 week microcosm where things have gone wrong, and a wake up call, but the trajectory is still good.

I don’t think they will sack him either but what it has done is massively ramped up the pressure on himself and the team ahead of the World Cup. I will say it again, we are approaching the beginning of the end. Something feels off.

individual errors tonight. Saying that, I do think he pandered to the ignoramuses who keep saying he needs to stop playing 2 defensive midfielders and 'let the handbrake off'. To be fair I remember being at the two warm up games at the riverside last summer and we were crap in both of those games, scoring just one goal against Austria and Romania.
