England Germany tonight

I think he’s made too many players in key positions undroppable. Sterling rice maguire Pickford and even Kane

When should have tried other options in games. To test if they are capable.

His over dependence of Declan rice is really odd esp as we do have other options.

Ben White who is such a CB that he's been moved to right back?
True but James and Walker have all played in the back three for England at some point and are predominately RB/RWB. He's only playing RB to accommodate the other French lad, he's played CB all his career.

Anyways, it was more about what's the point in calling Tomori up not to give him a chance.

Well his praises were sung for getting results in the last one so why shouldn't he receive criticism for this.

He should receive criticism, but its completely unbalanced. Just on here, and this site is one of the more moderate ones, I've read people completely slagging him saying hes a **** manager and England would be world beaters if anyone else was manager. I've said it many times but anyone slaughtering him should go and watch the England low lights of the last five or six tournaments we entered, and realise the grass is not always greener.

Southgate has just been quoted on Sky Sports and it seems like he's accepting that if he does badly at Qatar, he's on his way out.

I suppose the only question is what's classed as successful?
To many, only winning it will be enough now.
I personally think that semi-finals is a decent effort.
At my age a semi is always a decent effort.

Sterling has 2 goals in his last 13 matches. He will definitely play him, so let's hope Kane is red hot through this World Cup.
I am keen to see who else starts for us in Qatar.

Semi finals of the World Cup would be a hell of an achievement in any other context considering we’re definitely not one of the best 4 teams in the world.

Know what you mean, expectations of what success looks like are different now because we’ve done so well in the last two tournaments.

I suspect we’ll go out in underwhelming fashion in the quarters if the draw is kind, which it usually is, and Gareth will call it a day afterwards. We might knock off one big scalp but can’t see us beating two or three.

We have a good as chance as anybody
I thought we were better than Germany tonight
Brazil Argentina France and Spain are not that great
Get behind them and the manager because I can see us going far in the tournament

Germany used most of not all of the attacking options tonight resting mueller.

So they know exactly what they have going into Qatar.

We never used a single striker/forward other than Kane/sterling

So we learned nothing about our options.
