England games confirmed

I was at the England Ireland match at AP, dull as ditch water as I recall.

You're older than I thought, either 1905 or 1914.
England's last game at Ayresome Park was in 1937 against Wales.

Unless you're remember some youth matches against Scotland.

How many international matches have previously been played at The Riverside and Ayresome....?

We obviously had Slovakia when Nemeth played for them
World Cup in 66 had 3 matches
Did we have a couple in the 30s / 40s? maybe even GB?
Tim Williamson played in the very 1st international at AP, Feb 25th 1905 & is credited with scoring England 1st ever OG as we drew 1-1 v Ireland
Boro goalkeeper Tim Williamson made his England debut but was unfortunately responsible for gifting Ireland their goal, allowing a corner to drop from his grasp & over the line.

England equalised almost immediately when Steve Bloomer, later to sign for Boro from Derby, scored. The game finished 1-1, the picture below shows a programme from the game, which could possibly be the first at Ayresome as Boro didn’t start producing until the 1906/07 season.

Ayresome:
1905 England 1-1 Ireland
1914 England 0-3 Ireland
1937 England 2-1 Wales
1966 USSR 3-0 N Korea
1966 N Korea 1-1 Chile
1966 N Korea 1-0 Italy

Riverside:
2003 England 2-1 Slovakia

Nine full international matches, not bad for a small provincial town
Wasn't the Austria v England U21 the 1st international at the Riverside, which Jamie Pollock played in

yes, think so, and he was substitued off for......D. Beckham. The face of a thousand advertising campaigns replaced the face of a thousand crime watch videos.....if you are reading I'm only joking Jamie P, you're a legend.

Cheers, thought so

Now I do have that programme

Why was it daft? Sports etc don't reopen til May 17th. When is snooker final? Its normally bank holiday Monday in early May.
I'm only jesting atypical. It was announced last week and I thought people would have been aware.

The World Snooker Championship is designated as a Covid-19 test event. The % capacity starts off at 33% then gradually increases up to the final. Over 18s only, no vulnerable folk allowed and face coverings to be worn.

ah ok

Not sure I'd fancy wearing a covering for a full session mind.
