England EUROS squad

He's a cert to be in the squad. If he's fit then he should be a cert in the first 11, but I'm not sure Southgate will put him in the first 11.

He played quite well last night to say it was his first start since his 2/3 month injury.

I doubt Southgate will select him to start even if he is the best English player running with the ball. The problem with a front three of Grealish, Kane and Foden is a lack of strong direct running ability. That ability is from Sterling, Rashford and Sancho, so expect to see one of them with Foden and Kane. That's my take on it at least.

I'd agree as long as he doesn't choose Sterling for the role! Sancho would be my choice.

Hard to argue against Bamford getting called up right now.

He's got the most goals and assists of any top flight English player outside of Harry Kane now.
I made this point two weeks ago but most people seemed to think Ollie Watkins was a much better bet.

Bamford has had a fabulous season, and deserves to be in the discussion.

Personally, I think if Watkins played for Leeds this season, he'd have more goal involvements than what Bamford currently has.

That Leeds team under Bielsa creates an abundance amount of chances and Bamford has missed a ridiculous amount of those.

Who would you trust to get us a goal if we so desperately needed it between Watkins or Bamford?

I know who my money would be on.

I'm not sure Southgate needs more than Kane and Calvert-Lewin in the squad. Rashford can cover the central forward slot if needed.

Agree and if there's anyone outside those two that I'd take then it would be Ings (even with his injury record).

IMO, Ings is a much better finisher than Watkins/Bamford are.

I'd take Mason Greenwood if you take another striker, great as an impact player who can score a goal out of nothing.
