England - Central Defenders

Bit of a lack of depth here for us.

Stones & Maguire are Southgate's go to's but who else have we got coming up?
Gomez?
Dunk has missed his opportunity, no spring chicken & Ben White is now a right back. I can't think of many decent, upcoming central defenders

Guehi and Tomori are two ready to make the step up. Colwill and Harwood-Bellis are potentially top class and hopefully become regular PL starters next season.

The thing with centre backs is that it’s rare for them to reach the top level at a young age. Even the likes of Rio Ferdinand were mistake prone at 21-23, but by 26-30 he was imperious. So we shouldn’t worry too much given those named are still very young, although I’m not sure why Southgate doesn’t fancy Tomori.

Maybe because he reads things like this

The Premier League is a different beast to Serie A, Southgate would have seen how Tomori struggled against Chelsea in the Champions League and made up his mind.
There is a reason why players move to Serie A and all of a sudden look like better players despite them being underwhelming or inconsistent in the Premier League (Lukaku/Smalling/Young/Mkhitaryan/etc)
