Get as many as possible. You never know until both sides bat. It’s not a treacherous pitch. It requires patience and good discipline with the ball. The new ball has offered a bit more on the surface vs, the first two tests.

Anything around 400 should be a very good total. I’ll turn quite a bit from day 3-4 onwards so we will need Bashir to step up too

India have to bat last so will probably need at least 50 more runs than us in the first innings. They will have to bat very well to get 450.

Smith has got to 30 in no time at all, it’s exactly the reason he shouldn’t ever bat higher than 6 or 7. His game is ideal for this scenario.

Always remember years ago when The Aussies would go 5 down. Gilchrist would come out with the counter punch. Massively important position in the middle to lower order.

It really does look like we have found a Gilchrist.

The pitch is a lot drier than a month ago. I think the rough will play a part possibly from day 4 but probably on day 5.
