ENG v IND 3rd test

Before the series started i thought we'd win it.

Even after headingly i thought the same. But i think Edgbaston was a real wake up call, and it actually made me realise we were very lucky in the first test with the amount of catches india dropped. Run chase was impressive though.

Our bowling attack looks weaker than i can remember. Bashir, pope and crawley need dropping but none of them will be.

Have a feeling Gill and Pant are going to be constant thorns all series like Steve Smith has been.

I'm not feeling so optimistic anymore but hopefully Lords can shut me up.

Wake up call is right. Think we believed the narrative that their attack was only about Bumrah. They certainly popped that bubble.

Same.

No Rohit, Kohli, Ashwin through retirement, newish coach under pressure after losing 3-0 at home to NZ. What better time to play them, I thought.

Truth is they haven’t missed those players at all and their side looks so well balanced. Far more so than us.

Expecting Stokes to put them in again…. Archer to breakdown and Bashir to skittle them for under 600!

Not really when we put India in as is our wont in this series. They bat all Day 1 and some of day 2. Not even England are then bowled out twice in a day.
Yes, I was being facetious. I did go to Day 3 for the Windies at Edgbaston last year though and England completed the victory mid-way through the afternoon. India are a different proposition though as you say.

With no decent spinner - and however much the Sky commentators try to build him up, Bashir isn’t the answer - our unbalanced attack is ripe for being thrashed again. Hope we lose the toss as Lords is definitely a bat first pitch.

Gonna get battered, again.
Archer, if he can keep fit, might blow them away but their bowling man for man is so much better than ours.
