🐙Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

I've moved onto the agile one, until this tracker goes on, gonna give that a month and see how it pans out.

Free electric between 1330 and 1500 today, and less than 10p per k/W between 1130 and 1600, wish I had a rapid car charger at home now

If you install the app octo aid, you can compare other tariff me to show what you would have paid on them

Cheers pal, will do that. I've got the Octopus app, so will get this one too.

Need to get our lass trained up to plug the cars in when it's cheap/ free

This Agile might even work better than the tracker, for electric if I charge cars at the right times (which I can do), I WFH so use is spread through cheap times mostly and I could quite easily avoid peak times. Thing is Agile does nothing for the gas does it? I can't even remember what the gas rate is, but I bet it's not near the 4p you're getting.

Don't think so.

Nano has an EV, and said he found the tracker worked out cheaper for him but suppose depends how much you can load shift and how much time you want to spend on doing it into the windows they give you vs just having it at a fairly cheap consistent rate

I WFH and have a small amount of solar, but like today it's <5p from 1200-1600 effectively, and most of that time it's actually free! Could make a big difference with an EV and a Hybrid.

As long as the car isn't plugged in between 1630 and 1900 it should be very good. I don't panic with the EV about it being fully charged, so might get away with a charging profile just between 1200 and 1600 each day.

I've got that Octo Aid now, it looks great, very handy, thanks for that.

Will see how I do with a months data.

The agile tarriff practically makes solar pointless mind, unless you have battery and can store 1200-1600 sun, to use at 1600-1900.

I signed up yesterday but clicked the wrong link so didn't get the referral credit. Is there a code or something I should give them when I contact them?
Yes I have online access, but can only see an option to share my code?
Just a heads up for you both, still not had any emails from octopus. Will let you know if anything comes through though!

Prices still low this week!

16.35p elec, 3.4p gas

If anyone wants to have a copy of the basic spreadsheet I've pulled together to compare costs I can share it, it's fairly easy to modify to run your own comparisons vs now, epg, july 1st price cap and octopus tracker

I used your referral btw, it might have come up as Chris.

Seem to be doing alright with the Agile tariff too, averaging around 12p per kWh. I've not really tried to stop use from 4pm to 7pm, but have stopped my car from charging during those times, and put a ban on the washer/ dryer between those times.

There's a drop in prices from 1300-1600 most days, so just set my car to charge in those times and also means I can chip in with the small amount of solar I have too. This might work for a lot of people with EV's as 3 hours is ~ 21kW, which is about 60-80 miles worth of charge, and most won't do more than that per day.

The only problem with this Agile tarrif is it's only electric and my gas is stuck on the flexible, hopefully, I can swap the gas onto the tracker next month and might be worth sticking with the Agile for electric.

Yeah yours came through fine.

The online ones are instant notification, so easy to confirm - I know how all call centres can be though 😂

I spoke to them again the other day as my billing seems all over the place , I was told that once first DD is taken we will both be paid .

First payment comes out
Ah that is fairly standard with many providers unfortunately. It can also take a few weeks for any credit balances to be refunded under the final bill process as involves a third party company (industry wide)

Can be grim finding the cash, maybe see if octopus will allow you to lower the dd amount given you're expecting usage to be significantly cheaper especially leading into summer?

Remember ultimately it's all cash you would have paid anyway even if it feels like an "extra" payment, it's all to the account and just gets used up at some point We reduced our dd down quite quickly
In line with the new tracker costs but the initial standard tariff predicts it to be higher obviously.

I've a DD payment coming out 01/06 with Eon, Octopus are going to take their first one 07/06 for pretty much the same amount......can't afford it.🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

If you had a credit balance with EON, you might have been able to ask them to skip the dd but by how it will have been requested.

If you can't afford the payment best to back out of it with octopus as dd's get requested 3 working days in advance of payment date so don't want you to get that missed - although maybe ring octopus and see if they can change the dd date maybe to the end of the month so it's "like" your next payment with eon?

Payment ha been made into my account , you should have yours now (y)

Just had last months bill on the tracker. £78 for both Electric and Gas! Joined in February. A lot cheaper than we used to pay with British Gas. Thanks for the tip “ThatFragranceGuy”. :)👏
