šŸ™Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

Just had an email wanting me to confirm switching to tracker.
It states;

Current Elec 69.42 kwh
Standing charge 46.95per day
Tracker average for the year 53.96 kwh
Standing charge average 17.96 per day

Current Gas 17.09 kwh
Standing charge 26.84
Tracker average for the year 17.09 kwh
Standing charge average 15.08 per day.

Looks like I will be saving quite a bit but confusingly they want to increase my Direct Debit by an extra Ā£100 per month.

Originally I was with Eon and paying Ā£185 per month, and over Ā£300 in credit. Im now expected to pay Ā£317 per month.

That's a large increase considering I'm supposed to be saving money. I assume I will be building up credit again before my D/D drops again.
Just give them a ring or a DM on Twitter. You can ask to review your DD regularly based on actual usage and if you've got your usage figures that will make things even easier

Are those the unit rates?

Nearly 70p for electric and 17p for gas šŸ˜®šŸ˜±šŸ˜³

If you're already with Octopus then you can still do this now. I've just come off the phone to them and the new tracker rate is already showing on my account. Had been meaning to do this after reading the initial post a couple of weeks ago.

I got added today over the phone but I'm already a customer with them so maybe the waiting list is only for new customers.

You can join that list, I'd just be trying everything to get in it by Twitter or ringing them, still worth being on the waiting list as they might open it up more in future

Worst case you still gain from the Ā£50 credit and are on the wait list. I'll update op to add the wait list info

Their normal tariff is about 1.5p worse of per kWh across both and about 0:75 standing charge more expensive.

Looks like I missed the boat on it

Surely their normal tariff is just the epg? Or are you on some kind of fix?

Bear in mind epg goes up Ā£500 and the Ā£66 payments stop come April, I'd be wanting in that list šŸ˜‚
