Delete the emoji and you can then quote the post.

You can add it back yourself after deleting it and it'll still let you post it.

Irritating, but it can be worked around.

You can work with emojis either replying to emoji littered content or your own added.. Just before you post, click the 3 dot vertical more options item, then toggle BB code on
