EFL - Player of the Month. Azaz & Latte-Lath

Where are all those outstanding sunderland players? Cirkin or the future Ballon D'or winner, Jobe. 🤔🤔🤔
 
Azaz has gone from Boro reserve (on here) to possible Championship Player of the Month.

He must have eaten some magic beans a month ago. Maybe Chuba sent him some.
 
Finn Azaz and its not even close.
If its decided merely by a fan vote the Leeds midfielder might win it.
 
I voted Azaz, he's been superb.

Tbh I think Azaz has been waay better for us than Morgan Rogers was, and if he keeps going like this we're going to struggle to hold onto him.

I don't think that's even debatable, is it?

Rogers struggled to make an impact for months here, to the point that he didn't start a league game between early September and late November.

He then got back in the team and never looked back for his last 6 weeks.

Azaz did more in the league for us in his first 6 months last season, let alone this season.

That's not a criticism of Rogers either, just I think it's undeniable that Azaz has been better for us.

Take away the cup matches against lower league opposition and it's not even close.

Yeah, it's not debatable for us I suppose although I'm sure some might say Rogers was unreal for us, but I didn't really see much of that in all honesty.

Tbh, from what I have seen this year from Azaz, and following on from last year I just think Azaz is a better player overall or as good as Rogers, which most probably won't agree with. Or maybe just a better player for our team, who knows. We come to a bit of a grinding halt without Azaz, and he gets us out of trouble so often.

Just seems to me that Rogers only really plays well against the lower half prem teams this year, and Villa have a good side and he gets a free role. I think Azaz would do at least as well as Rogers for them, or do well in a prem side.

Rogers is two years younger mind, and he's going to learn a lot in those two years in the prem, so would probably be better at comparable ages, but we'll see. Rogers is quicker too I think, and that matters in the prem, a lot. Both clearly very good players now though.

Was a great bit of business on our end though, likely making ~12m on Rogers and that also paying for Azaz, but we obv sold Rogers to Villa and got Azaz from them for next to nothing.
 
Well I can see a Prem team looking at him as things stand, especially if he keeps it up between now and the window opening in January
