Edwards it is folks...

Only my opinion but I think the problem with Wilders style may be that he is very dismissive of players and belittles them which maybe worked at lower league levels were there is less player power and less ego to bruise but higher level players maybe more inclined to switch off to his bs.

You may be right, but I really dont think any of our players should think they are good enough to have an ego.

They've not covered themselves in glory, I agree but then few big egos are fully justified. Wilders criticism often seem far more personal jibes than constructive. It's a man management choice but I don't think it worked for him. Even if the players didn't intentionally down tools for him it must have been very dispiriting and drained enthusiasm.

Spot on you can't speak the way he did its dreadful management. I would stick my house on him not having any success at premier League or championship level at a new club. He's a lower league bully boy.

Looks like he favours 3-4-1-2 as that’s what he played most at FGR and Watford, although does like to switch it to 4-2-3-1 as well.
Lumley/Roberts

Dijksteel/Dodds
Fry/Hannah
Bilongo/Howe

Jones/Gibson
Payero/Conteh
McGree/Hackney
Giles/Willis

Crooks/Fletcher

Forss/Kavanagh
Muniz/Hoppe

Looks reet.. saying that even a gargantuan turn around (1.71 ppg) only leaves us on 70 pts
1.42 ppg from now leaves us on 60 points
1.14ppg has us with 50 points

Has someone ITK tell me it's getting done as we speak...

Quite liked his football at Watford.
Passionate, young, hungary, bright, progressive....worth a risk ?

I'm not sure but every time I have listened to him I thought he sounded like a decent chap and knowledgeable.....
Whoever it is they need some time and to be judged on what they do with us.

Sadly - he has already been slaughtered by some on her.

I honestly can’t believe that the guy just sacked from Watford is the best Scott and Gibson can some up with. Surely our next appointment won’t be someone who was sacked 9 games into his Championship career. I know it was at Watford, but I just can’t see it being Edwards.
Agreed RICO , can't see it being him , but I do think it will almost be done with someone , and he may get introduced to the crowd on Wednesday . New manager bounce coming I hope .

I reckon Steve Gibson would buzz off bringing Marcelo Bielsa to Boro

Had a watch as I now nothing about the lad, seems a nice guy.

Certainly fits the bill as he refers to himself as a head coach and worked with director of football at FGR so would be no power struggle going on. Whether he would be good enough is another question but I won't be against giving him a chance.

Do you think we have any higher level players?

You 100% have to coddle egos at PSG and Real Madrid but not with our squad, they're solid lower league pros.

I don't think Wilder is anything but honest, very straight up with no agenda (unlike Warnock and Pulis). I don't buy that he's put players noses out of joint by belittling them.

If there's one thing every ex-pro says in books and podcasts is that they like honesty and to know where they stand. Making players like Uche and Chuba train with the U23s is totally normal, every single club does that when they're moving a player on. Wilder was even very honest that he was moving them on and the reasons why. What gets players upset is when they do what Monk did with Downing and told him he was his key player, then didn't play him and tried to sell him behind his back.

In fact I think he's one of the most straight-talking managers we've had. Can't think of many things he's ever said that I've disagreed with, though I don't think he recognises his own faults and wonder if he's any good at picking a player.

FGR confirms the departure of Head Coach Rob Edwards and Assistant Head Coach Richie Kyle. Rob & Richie were a key part of the team that gained promotion to League One this season. We’re disappointed that our support, loyalty and honesty towards Rob has been repaid in this way - with negotiations taking place behind our backs.
We had no contact from Watford, from whom we might expect less, but in any event this kind of behaviour gives football a bad name.
We thank Rob for all his work at FGR - forgive him the manner of his departure and wish him well.

Nice blunt statement lol

Fans banging on about Wilder's loyalty probably going to have a bad year

Well levels are relative of course. Even a half decent champo player can easily be earning 15k a week, a level of earning power that can afford them a lifestyle most can't even imagine. Even some youth players, as boro know well, can have their head turned before they've got anywhere near the first team. As for Wilder, I've heard him be pretty disrespectful to players on numerous occasions. You may say it's being blunt, plain speaking etc but probably a bit different when it's you he's slating in front of media for all to hear and then expecting to you run through brick walls for him only to do it again the following week. You reap what you sow etc. Don't usually listen to talk sport but did find it interesting to hear Simon Jordan say in that youtube clip about the Burnley hoo hah how he saw Wilder grow more arrogant and disrespectful during his time in Prem. Maybe this experience will be a reality check for him as well, as I don't think he has covered himself in glory. Not that i think the club are blameless either mind you.
